The Story
Honda have become the latest team to announce the launch date for their 2008 Formula One challenger.
The new machine, codenamed the RA108, will be unveiled at the team's Brackley headquarters in the UK on January 29, and will see new team boss Ross Brawn joined by drivers Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello.
Honda's announcement comes after world champions Ferrari confirmed their new car will be shown to the world at their Fiorano test track on January 6.
Team CEO Jean Todt will not be there though, as he will still be on holiday in Malaysia.
BMW Sauber were the first squad to make their launch plans known, with their new challenger getting it's grand unveiling on January 14 in Munich, while fellow German-based squad Toyota will do likewise in Cologne four days earlier.
McLaren will not have an official launch, and will instead simply release photos of their new machine when it runs in Spain on the third week of January.
The same is true of Red Bull, who will give their new RB4 it's first public airing on January 16 at Jerez, and of Toro Rosso, who are likely to start the season with their existing car before debuting the 2008 machine at Barcelona.
The latest of the current confirmed bunch is Renault, who will launch their new R28 at their corporate HQ in Paris on January 31, although the car will break cover on the track a week earlier.
Williams, Super Aguri and Force India are all yet to announce their plans.
Confirmed launches
January 6 - Ferrari
January 10 - Toyota
January 14 - BMW Sauber
January 16 - Red Bull

My thoughts on liveries and such for 2008. We all know paint and graphics do not make a car go fast but tell me the Mclaren guys are not proud of their machine.
January 6 - Ferrari - Please ditch the metallic rose color, please J. Todt, go back to the brighter Red!
January 10 - Toyota - Proof cubic dollars can make you an impressive mid-packer. IMO, their livery has always looked too conservative.
January 14 - BMW Sauber - Due for a win for sure, I'm not the only one still calling them BMW Williams, the Blue/White works but they look too alike.
January 16 - Red Bull - Always plenty of flash with this group. Great looking car.
January 29 - Honda - Great momentum w/nabbing Ross Brawn. Honda agrees to finally ditch the ugly MyEarthDream Swamp Car!
January 31 - Renault - Late launch gives them plenty of time to copy everyone
Hope they can incorporate ING orange color a bit better than in 2007.Yet to announce:
McLaren Mercedes - Best looking car out there, pewter color is fantastic.
Williams Toyota - Need to set themselves apart from BMW Sauber, too conservative.
Toro Rosso - I never liked the oversized Bull w/white horns on the side.
Super Aguri - The don't need last years Honda's reject chassis for sure. Red/White color scheme needs some POP! How about a big Rising Sun on the airbox?
Force India - Another variation of Red and White. Also ran, whatever the color. I doubt it will help them get more TV time.

Keep the new darker red, it's beautiful and is much more in keeping with the more traditional blood red of Ferrari.

I thought the cars were pretty damn ugly last year though so I won't mind when they paint over my name
