I think I read somewhere that they were running on the softest compound. But that may still be an improvement over where they were at this time last season.
Also liking the reliabilty thaf Honda has been showing. They could be in the Red Bull car next year once they separate from Renault.

You can guarantee Merc haven't shown their pace yet.

I’d say Merc is sandbagging by focusing on long runs with high fuel loads.
