I mean after all, if the desire was to REALLY make F1 more affordable, do ya think for just a second Mr. Tightass Billionare Bernie could reduce his profit margin slightly on advertising rights and feed a bit more cash back into the teams...
I believe that's going to happen. If not, F1 will go the way of CART/Champ Car and IRL. I think Bernie will appease the manufacturers by giving them a bigger share of the pie in exchange for staying on his throne as the Grand Pubah of Formula racing. Whether thay'll bother to fix any of the other problems, I couldn't say, but the increase in shared $$$ will smooth the current divide.

^ Let's just hope it happens, but I fear Bernie has his pockets sewn closed, just like Frank Williams...

Totally off-topic...posting it here, since we are on the topic of engines...

Woulnd't it be cool if the next iteration of the S2k got a toned down 2.4L V8 from their F1 cars? Beef it up, make it more reliable, spin it to 9,000 RPMs (or higher

Increased tq, compact, high-revs, gobs of HP, the wonderful sounds in an open-top...the development is already there, and it would make the 2G S2k just as unique as the 1G.

Ahh, I'm dreaming too much, lol.
