Default Appology to Future King Jenson

BBC's Ted Kravitz (above) explains why we need to make it up to Jenson Button...

He is a quality driver!
'Anyone who ever said Jenson Button was a rubbish driver should eat their words and apologise, as his poor performances were down to having an under-performing car. In F1, it

I'm glad I have nothing to apologize for. I was never a huge Honda fan, but I always liked Button. And I'm definitely pulling for Brawn this year, if for no other reason than to see a new team winning!

I have to admit, i've had my doubts about Jenson. I mean i love the guy and all but its so tough to determine if a driver is any good when he's on a bad team.

I still think he's one of the best drivers out there. Although i have yet to see him fight for a championship or fight hard during a race against the likes of FA or KR. I hope we can see that this year.

I'll add he definitely seems like a nice guy, when I met him and his father in the Shanghai airport in 2004, nobody there noticed it was him. I was waiting at my gate downstairs and decided to give the HUGE BAR display another look. Just happened to go up there and there was Jenson and his dad. Talked to him for a small bit and asked/pleaded for him to stick with Honda, that they won't steer him wrong. Well it didn't fully materialize with Honda, but this year so far so good, even if the red H isn't on the nosecone. His father said to him, maybe you should listen to him, he even has the right shirt on (purchased the one-off 555 blue pit shirt). He kind of just chuckled. Of course 2004 was a decent year for BAR-Honda and I definitely wasn't expecting to see season's like '07 and '08. I'm just really happy he kept the loyalty with the team, because he just might finally get his just reward.

That's a cool story! 2004 was a very good year for Jenson....it was just unfortunate that Ferrari was so dominating....probably the most dominating performance in the modern era. But Button did manage 8-10 podiums that year....so I don't know how people so quickly forget that, and then throw the label on him of being a bad driver. It was not that long ago.
