Bourdais Out?
So the seat goes to this kid, but does anyone know what happened to Taku? I was really hoping he'd get Vettels seat after Vettel left the team last year when he was still a reserve/test driver. I love Takuma Sato, STR should give him a chance. He's got the experience, shown brilliance in a F1 car before(see US GP 2004 and infamous Alonso pass Canada 2007) and he works great with teams. I see no downside here?
Probably a money related issue too. While there are mumblings about giving Alguersuari a run in-season because of the lack of testing opportunities, there is plenty of time to let him drive in the post-season. Word is that he's coming with plenty of Repsol money, so that might have something to do with it.
I remember when Sato and Bourdais were in a 'shoot out' for the STR seat last winter, once Bourdais got the nod, Sato was hinting that STR wanted/needed the driver to bring in some cash, and that wasn't something he could do very easily.
Too bad though... Sato really deserves a run in F1 again, exciting driver.

From what I understand, Sato brings some serious sponsorship money behind me.. I was surprised not to see Sato fill that seat for the remainder of the year.
As far as Sato goes as a driver though, he was exciting, but not very good... Qualifying was impressive but how many times did he actually complete a race? The difference between him and JB wasn't as bad as FA and NP but was pretty big nontheless...

that's a bit harsh. he didn't live up to expectations sure, but he seemed like a nice guy. he seemed nice to the media and i liked hearing him talk about the car; he gave good detail.
He always had an attitude about him. I loved it when PT called him out on it.

I hope he comes back to Indycars so Tracy can throw another punch at him.
