Let's face it, Danica is a failed marketing campaign to attract a woman audience to Indy Car/open wheel racing.

Besides, women do not want to see a woman drive....they want and go to races to see the MALE drivers in NASCAR. They go ga-ga over them.

and yes i do think anyone here is capable of driving a topfuel dragster with their foot on the floor... weither they have the balls to or not is besides the point.

yes it takes an amazing amount of skill concentration and all that stuff to win at the top level in drag racing, but just get down the track, not so much.

where an indy car takes an enormous amount on skill just to successfully navigate a road or street course... look at rusty wallice... he couldn't do it and he is a professional race car driver (if u can call nascar drivers pro)



but thats the only isue u can argue with me on, u cant argue with the fact that she did finish 7th in points and ahead of some pretty amazing drivers. u guys are saying shes a fail marketing campaign? whats ur reasoning behind that? again there are great drivers in irl that have not won races, irl drivers the best in north america and cuz she hasnt been able to win against them but has done very well ur saying shes failure?

if u think she doenst deserve to race then u are sexist cuz based on her performance she is a great driver. the fact that u people are calling for her head proves that u do treat her different cuz she is a woman and "us kids who grew up texting" are ashamed to call u our parents.

Maybe you think it shouldn't matter, but it does. I automatically discount the opinions of anyone who can't spell, who can't use punctuation, and who "rit lik this neway".

If you want us to listen to you, you have to speak our language. And if you don't care if we listen to you, then why are you talking?

Don't mean to hijack the thread but give Wie a break! She is definetly a good golfer just give her some time. Come on not everyone is a prodigy like Tiger Woods.

 

And how many full-length theatrical movies have been made about her, versus, say, Shirley Muldowney?

I can't help it if you are too young to remember, but Danica is definitely not "leading the charge for women in motorsports". She is pretty high-profile right now, but not even as high as she was a year ago.

 

I think Danica beats herself more often than not;her whining and bitching would not be tolerated if it were a male driver and that half-assed punch at Weldon earlier in the season looked staged;
try that with Paul Tracy, Miss Patrick and the outcome would have been different

The last time she won something was in 1997 in a kart as a teenager.....no wins in any class of any kind in the last 10 years and now she's in a top 3 team in the IRL.

I like to see other women compete in racing. I've routed for Lyn St. James, Sarah Fisher, Milka Duno, etc... Danica has come closer than most of them to giving me a vicarious win.

I'm too old to get a ride at their level but if I had a spare million or three, I'd give SCCA a try myself

I've never seen a Nascar race and I don't find rednecks all that attractive. I will watch almost any other form of motor sports - much to the annoyance of my husband. I've been a race fan since I bought my first Honda in 92 and have followed them from CART to IRL and was thrilled when they announced they were returning to F1.

I also wanted to point out that had Danica NOT spun, her team mate Dario would probably NOT have had the finish that he had. I personally think she took one for the team! And my former favorite driver Dario is a damn traitor for even thinking about going to Nascar - that bas**d
