Defeated already?
^ What FB is not admitting to is the performance hit the teams that adopted the Bridgestone tires early knowingly took so they could become familar with the tires. Renault had the same opproturnity but stuck with Michelin so they would not get the hit - now he is worried about everything the other teams discovered during this time....sorry can't have your cake and eat it too...
Yup, so some of the teams like BMW and Toyota could be stronger next year, while Renault works to figure out the Bridgestone characteristics. Oh, and boo hoo, Ferrari will already know...
I'm not sure slicks have a chance...
The groved tires were added to slow the cars down and they did, for a while. The V8 engines were added to slow the cars down, however, according to speed the lighter weight engine package has more drivers flat out through the corners, thus it seems some of the corner speeds are up. I'm thinking if they went slicks the corner speeds would increase again, and that may not be desirable according to the trend of trying to slow the cars down.
What do you other guys think???

Slicks doesn't necessarily mean more grip...FIA could very well mandate a certain type of construction. There has been a lot of development on the construction of the grooved tires in the last decade...I don't recall exactly, but I believe Patrick Head or Frank Dernie has said that the grooved tires of today offer far more grip than their last slick tires.

yup
