Default Egos

We have seen Michael's powerplays over Nico, but Nico is unfazed having outqualified and outraced the 7x WDC so far.

We have seen a minor blow-up with Lewis in Australia, lambasting his team's strategy over the intercom as Jenson cruised to victory in sublime fashion.

We have also seen Alonso's inability to get by a slower Massa in Australia, no matter how hard he tried....which begs the question...how will Alonso handle this situation again should it arise. It was clear he was the faster driver of the two, but Ferrari swears they no longer do team orders. Alonso has a history of blow-ups with teammates, so will this come into play again?

So, of these 3 top teams' drivers, who's ego will get the best of them this year? You know it's going to happen...F1 is the best real soap opera there is.

None of those.

Both of the Red Bull drivers, their egos, and the hype surrounding their cars have been total disappointments. Vettel mainly.

There is no inter-team rivalry in Red Bull though. Webber sucks and he knows it. Vettel has been whooping his ass since he came to the varsity team. Vettel is a prissy diva. He doesn't have a man's ego. That is why I didn't include them.

I think LH is going to blow up this season. When Button is piling up points and putting in a run for a repeat bid as WDC and Lewis is way back....you'll see that he just can't take it.

I think LH is a has been...

He will indeed loose it at some point, although his actions to date, and we are only on the 2nd race, already indicate just how well he does not grasp the concept of team.

What "powerplays" has MS done? The only issue I have heard of was the car number. Please elaborate.

Could you also explain why Vettel is a "prissy diva"? I think anyone would be upset if they were robbed of not one, but TWO F1 wins, because of something out of his control.

I was reading on the BBC. David Coulthard thinks LH's problems stem from the fact that he does not have a manager now.

Father and son (Anthony & Lewis) have gone separate ways and DC says he was surprised to learn that they did not talk about the driving (or driver) malfunction in Melbourne, for which Lewis was ticketed.

Ron Dennis is no longer directly controlling the team and Anthony Hamilton is no longer directly involved or does not have a say anymore. It seems like Lewis is rudderless for the time being.

I hope he does not implode on himself. Im no fan of his but still remember all the buzz and excitement he created at the start of the 2007 season. I remember thinking to myself that I was glad we had someone like him as Schumacher was no longer around to Alonso.

The other thing I will be watching is FA at Ferrari. I really like Massa and I think he is the uncrowned champ of the 08 season. Im hoping Alonso does not throw a hissy fit and desecrate the team atmosphere there. I'd hate to see Massa end up like Rubinho.

I always end up being a victim of my ego.

SV seems to be handling all the bad luck and technical mishaps pretty well.

FA IMO is the loose cannon.

LH is under a lot of external pressure as mentioned before & MW didn't help in the last race, I think it will only be temporary. He seems to excel under pressure, so maybe JB's win in Aussie will light a fire under his a$$.
