F1 is more like NASCAR every year in this regard.

Fixed cylinder count, fixed V-angle, fixed redline, fixed ECU fercryinoutloud!

BTW, I'm not (never been) a NASCAR fan.

But I'm becoming less of an F1 fan every day.

 

You've got to understand, people who aspire to this level in F1 will never have that attitude. It is all about pride and clout. Money just follows.
