If this has elevation change like Spa then it should be a great track. I don't like that the front straight appears to be uphill though.

I used to live in Austin. You'd have a hard time putting a track of this size in Austin without massive elevation changes. Lance Armstrong moved there years ago in order to get the hills into his training schedule. Friends of mine have gone out to check out construction and they say they are working 24/7 to finish on time.
There was always interest and there will continue to be. Its not like everyone here only loves watching cars go around in circles.
We have our own road racing history and like the F1 bosses say, F1 needs the US more than the US needs F1

It was the FIA's fault for not allowing Michelin to fly in replacement tires. Hopefully they wont repeat such stupidity ever again.
