Wow, what a cool story. I would have guessed that it would have turned out the other way around with FA giving the snub.

I think I can't post a photo cause I'm only a guest and not a member (yeah, I know, I've only been meaning to sign up for about 4 years), but if any of you guys can post for me, I can send some of the photos I took that weekend.
Thanks all, sounds like I won't be disappointed if I stick around. So how does everyone keep up in the off-season? Is there a must reag mag or website (present forum included of course)?
I agree that seeing an F1 race in person is the best experience of the sport. And it's not just the cars, it's the tracks, the fans, the atmosphere. Thousands of people from around the world, all sharing in their enthusiasm for F1. All having fun, drinking beer, waving flags, big smiles on their faces regardless of the race outcome.
While I attended the race immediately following the $100 million fine against McLaren, which definitely put a damper over the track, I was at Spa and well, what else needs to be said?
Cheers,
Diane

As a long term F1 fan it seems I got into around 92 because of a Car and Driver article about the cars and I realized that these machines were on a tech and speed level like no other . About that time was wrapping up of the Prost/Senna era and a new era began called "Schumacher" . I feel sorry for those that did not see this era because it all came down to watching Mikey the Magician . He did not always pull the rabbit out of the hat but he made it very exciting to see exactly what trick he could come up with. If he started the race last how far could he make it up the grid? If he started 3rd when and how long before he made it to the front ? etc . He alway left you wondering when and where he was gonna make magic happen!
This is a new era now and who knows what is gonna happen but it looks like we got 3 strong contenders- Kimi,Hamilton, and Alonso!

Not all of them... I got a very nice autograph from Kimi last year, and not at an autograpg session, he just wondered out to the fence and started meeting people. It was great!

That would be my only reason to go to Europe;a trip to the Belguim GP @ Spa
But don't forget the Fatherland has the Autobahn and the Ring. Take a few laps in a Ring Taxi with your wife, GF or life partner taking course notes and then prepare to be humbled with how much you suck. Next day wake up early and drive the Bahn flat out in something fun. Crap I'm getting a hard on just remembering that trip
