Formula 1 To Return to US
The map doesn't really depict where the pit exit will be. I'm guessing they'll enter on the track between turns 1 & 2. That could be pretty interesting having cars come out of the hairpin & down the hill while cars are entering the track.

You got it!
I should be getting my R1R's and HKS HIPERmaxx III on the S later next weekend. I will be out enjoying some Central Texas hill climbs and scoping out the location with my camera.
I was out a few weeks ago at Bubba's burgers (He owns land right across from the future track) and not much was going on. I'll try to document the process with my camera, you can do all the writing.
I also added my name on the volunteer list on their site....

I'll be glad to post anything you share
Its still early days, they may let HPDEs run their after all. They will need feedback and money to keep coming in and I highly doubt they'll keep the tracked closed all year round for only MotoGP and F1.
Im hoping Grand-AM and ALMS use that location as well.
Texas Motor Speedway cost $250m 15 years ago and there are several club racing and DE events there each year. Red McCombs is an extremely shrewd businessman and if there is money to be made by having club racing and DE events at the new track then I suspect he will have them.
hopefully they have a run out on turn 10. it looks rather challenging as it falls away into the left hander.
the 17-18 complex looks similar.
they might actually have some daring passing going on under breaking.

133 feet of elevation per a press release. My fingers are crossed. In the meanwhile here is a sample lap

^^ Um, no. No elevation change? Constant rate? That compares to a sample lap like a kindergarten crayon scribble compares to the Mona Lisa.
