Default Help me with a report

I want to make a report for others about race tracks.

There are a few questions I have for those that have raced before at race tracks or are currently racing.

What do you think is the one of the greatest race track and why?

What features of the track do you like and don't like?

What would be the ultimate race track and why? (Doesn't matter if it's autox, drag, or drifting..)

Thanks for any help anyone is willing to give me.

Zac

I'm biased...

One of the best tracks is Watkins Glen because of its rich history, the great elevation changes and the degree of trickieness on many of the corners. The best part of the track for me is the downhill run into The Boot because of the sheer speed and how easy it is to pass those who are more intimidated.

Other awesome tracks
Road America, largest circumfrance in North America
Leguna Seca, it has the Corkscrew

If you go world wide, it has to be Belgium, Spa-Francorchamps, and why? Easy! Eau Rouge!

That's the information I'm looking for. Thank you so much. That's a great start.

Does anyone have any other information?

You will have to change that info - The new Miller Motorsports Park outside of SLC is 4.5 miles I believe. ALMS is there in May.

In a star mazda, Miller is almost 35 seconds a lap longer than Elkhart Lake.

23 turns, that track is nuts

So, that reminds me, it might be safe then to say, the greatest track ever would be the German Nordschleife! 20.832 km (12.944 mi) long, with 33 left and 40 right turns (actually about 100 corners, as counted by enthusiasts).

Hell of a track for sure, but too damn long for a race. I know they still hold the endurance race there and such, but it's no longer safe for anything high speed like Sportscars or even DTM.

Personally, the tracks I find most enjoyable are the ones with a variety and calls for an open mind to setup. Great example would be Istanbul.

As long as the track's got a mix of everything and has elevation changes, I'm pretty happy. Moderate length of course, nohting like lime rock pls
