Good rumor. FA could be what it takes for BMW to step up and fight for the whole enchilada. But he sure needs a #2 driver who knows he's number 2. Is Kubica capable of swallowing that much pride? He's driving pretty well.
See, this is where I think FA will have an issue - in finding someone who will happily play #2 to his #1. Can you see RK doing at BMW given the season he has had so far?

If FA needs a clear #2, then BMW isn't the place for him.

I can't imagine Theissen having such a structure to his team. As long as RK is still there, there's no way this will happen.

but with Kubica's inconsistency, i can't see him being No.1

at the moment, neither he nor Heidfeld are No. 1 drivers..

I agree with Simon, RK has indeed had some great drives, and as a BMW fan I have been thrilled, but he has not looked to be a true #1. Sort of like KR started out great this season with Ferrari, but although he is the World Champion, FM is looking much more like a #1 driver {and yes Simon, I too am surprised I just typed that } I don't think FA and RK would be a bad team at all.

NH has had some good result from luck. But raw speed, definitely RK. BMW is on a slump right now, they definitely have not been able to find more speed from the car. Lets see at Monza, with so little downforce, the cars are on equaler terms.

An up and coming driver like RK will not play second driver to a cocky asshole like FA. Especially after his true true colors came out in Mclaren.

KR has been a huge disappointment this year imo. I am not happy with either of the Ferrari drivers this year, both have been far to inconsistent.

Bring back MS!

I still remember when he went to a practice session, had not been in a racecar for over a year, and set down faster lap times than any of the racers who were there practicing. Awesome.

i agree, but I anticipate a late season charge from Kimi despite the fact if he may or may not play the "teammate" role.

I think Massa has finally come out of his shell and has warranted a push for a championship. I think both ferrari drivers have the wdc winning mentality, despite their inconsistencies. Its a huge improvement from the days of the second fiddle "Rubinho" mentality.
