Honda's 500HP Element-D drift car
Honda has created the Element-D drift car, which it has unveiled at the SEMA auto show. Based on the regular Honda crossover, the Element-D racer replaces the stock four-cylinder engine with a custom twin-turbo 3.2-liter Honda V6 mounted longitudinally and driving the rear wheels only.
The Element-D project was created by a team of enthusiasts at Honda Associates R&D Americas, Inc, based in Ohio. The car was built solely for the racing sport of drifting and came about from guys simply raiding the company parts bin. Final output is a massive 500hp, which will enable the Honda Associates to enter a team to compete in the 2007 Formula Drift Series.
Sports concepts of the CR-V SUV and Fit small car were also displayed at SEMA as well as the Civic Si sedan tuned by MUGEN.
I'm not sure which is worse, Toyota in NASCAR or Honda in Formula Drift Series, although the 500 hp from the 3.2 V6 ain't bad considering they just simply raided the company parts bin.
Let me be the first to say, this is not something you will ever see Ferrari backing a factory team in...

you know why?? Because Ferrari has to use traction control to keep their road cars on track. Unless you are to the ability of a F1 driver. BUT, Ferrari does build a Jacuzii... and that is something Honda will NEVER due... they make Jets...as in the type that fly, not jets that cover up when you fart in water.
Oh and last time I saw, Honda has a TON of electronic gizmos's on it's cars INCLUDING TC.

Hey Honda, how can I raid the company parts bin and transform my CRX-SiR into a 300 hp monster...
