Somehow I'm not too worried about that happening.

actually,
I will just be happy Honda won a race(s)

Funny, IMO the only greats on the grid are:
JV
FA
MS

I wouldnt call DC anything even close to great (13 wins)
KR.. never had to get a bad car to victory (8-9 wins)
JPM
RS
GF
JT

You arent great til you win a title

All I say is if Honda give JB a car that can win, he will.
If Honda give him a car that can win WC.. JB will be WC
the one thing we will never know is maybe the greats got a lessor car to victory, but how much lesser was it??

Marco, BLESS you for your entertaining and often valuable opinions.

I just wish you'd consider getting off this "all F1 drivers are equal" kick and give credit where credit is due (or not). JB has yet to prove that he has skills equal to ANY WDC.

I'm sorry, but I'm not willing to blame his lack of success solely on his ride.

I think JB's best drive had to be the 2004 German GP. 10 spot penalty for an engine change put him in 13th, but he sliced and diced his way up to 2nd, including an incredible battle and eventual pass on Alonso. Along with a near handful of other 2004 races, he should've won the German GP but for the engine change.

He's got talent, but doesn't seem to show it consistently.

12 straight races in the points and counting...

I meant that more to the effect that aside from the bad luck/engine change scenarios, he hasn't been consistent enough with his talent to get on the top step. I agree that 12 straight races in the points is impressive but he's at a point in his career where being in the points or even 2nd and 3rd place podiums just aren't enough anymore. He needs to win.

I'm no JB hater like most of the people here. I think his driving style is very smooth and he rarely makes mistakes. I'd like him to get that first win out of the way. It has to be a mental crutch on him at this stage.
