Default IRL race today

OK, so lapped traffic is always going to be an issue in any circuit race. But when all of the top finishers are complaining about it, doesn't that mean something needs to be done? Maybe not necessarily NASCAR-style "moving the lapped traffic out of the restart line" or maybe not necessarily the F1-style "penalties if lapped cars don't get out of the way", but if most club racers can manage to be embarrassed about holding up lead-lap cars, why can't the IRL drivers be a little more responsible?

Ed Carpenter had no business blocking Danica Patrick at the end of the race. That screwed up the third-, fourth-, and fifth-place drivers and could have caused a wreck. For no reason.

The issue was more prominent here because of the track design (one groove) and the fact that it rained the day before, washing out much of the rubber marbles. Look what happened when Fisher tried to yeild to Kanaan early - she got out of the groove, got loose and ended up taking out the very car she was trying to help. That being said, Carpenter did seem to be mucking up the works at the end.
