Default Kick a man while he's down

I admire Alonso's skill as a driver, but as gifted as he is behind a wheel, he obviously has no career ahead of him as a diplomat.

This seems to be a really good way of motivating Massa, and it seems to be a really good way to tick-off your own team. Rarely is one inept enough to piss off one's opposition and team in one fell swoop.

A driver has to do what a driver has to do...

The funniest part is, there are many of us Ferrari fans here who would not be heart broken to see FM's contract die before 2010!

It's not up to FA to decide if he wants to drive for Ferrari, that decision would be left to Ferrari.

For a 2 time world champion,he sure is one of the biggest losers in the sport.

I have never been an Alonso admirer but it pains me to see a recent double world champion resort to begging Ferrari for a drive. This is plain pathetic. Flavio Braitore should kick him out of Renault.

+1

I think the day FA joins the ranks of Ferrari is the day Kimi leaves. If Kimi threatens to jump ship if they (Ferrari) pick up a man in a lifeboat (FA). Ferrari would retain Kimi and kick FA to the curb.

FA can state all he wants that Ferrari is the best team and that is where he belongs but that won't happen. When rumors were flying that FA was leaving McLaren, everyone BUT Ferrari was mentioned as a prospect for picking him up. Some interest eh?

There are other names being tossed around the Ferrari camp for prospective drivers to fill FM spot if he is to be booted. Some were Vettel and one other I can't remember off the top of my head. Since that news broke, Vettel have since stated that he is sticking with TR throughout the remainder of his 3 year contract.

To be completely honest, I have not heard of Alonso being a speculative pick for Ferrari until he decided to open his mouth. I haven't heard anything in the Ferrari camp to confirm this. Seems like it is him wishing a bit much. If he concentrated as much on driving as he does with his hopes of one day becoming Ferrari property, he might actually win a race or two.

Mosley and the FIA should ban him from the F1 circuit for the crap he has been pulling since last year. Blackmailing and blatant wreckless driving and disregard for the safety of other drivers to name one or two reasons.

y get a driver who will blame the team for poor performance, which could jeopardize the name of ferrari. if anything i think ferrari would extend kimi's contract be4 getting alonso.

Checking only on the basis of the pulse of those who have responded to this thread, Alonso's reputation has certainly suffered over the last 2 years. A few years ago, few people had anything to say that was as manifestly negative about him as the views expressed by the people in here. I attribute this drop solely to his cry-baby attitude.

I have been a huge FA fan, but since last year my opinion of him has been slipping, and now this year it continues to slip. It's too bad, he really is a great driver, but his personality is really rubbing me in the wrong direction.

Honestly, I don't see FA getting a ride at Ferrari. I think KR is going to be there a long time and FA would not be a KR teammate.

FA won't be the teammate of anyone who is better than him. Bottom line.

It is either, pair me with someone who can't drive as well as I can so I get first seat or B, bring me in and kick the first seat holder to the curb.

This is the problem he had with McLaren. It was either going to be him or LH. Obviously Ron Dennis chose LH over Alonso. You did hear of the apparent blackmail of FA & McLaren before the FIA hearings last year concerning the espionage case?

He just thinks he is the best thing to happen to F1 because he has won 2 consecutive championships and thus should get anything he wants. News flash FA, you aren't the only one to accomplish this in recent years.

If he doesn't get what he wants. He just points fingers for blame and cries like a child.

Not the direct path into the hearts of F1 fans.
