anybody got a guess at how this one works? (http://f1.gpupdate.net/en/photolarge.php?photoID=119971) are the slender white strands tubes or wires?

tubes. it looks like an aluminum bracket with several pitot tubes. the tube face into the wind and travel back to a measuring device. they measure pressure differences caused by the airflow.
