Stewart, Busch slapped with probation

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Volatile NASCAR superstars Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch will return to Sprint Cup Series practice today for Sunday's 50th Daytona 500 on probation for six races, the result of their on-track altercations during practice for the Budweiser Shootout.
Stewart and Busch were cited by the sanctioning body for "actions detrimental to stock car racing," specifically an altercation with another competitor, during Friday night's final practice around the high-banked, 2.5-mile Daytona International Speedway.

I say force these two guys to go race in a couple open wheel cars, then let's see if they will be so stupid when they don't have fenders protecting themselves. I swear, the more I see NASCAR the more I see it as nothing more than a fast version of demolishion derby; that ain't racing in my book.
Stewart was a very successful IRL driver before he went over to Nascar. It's just the nature of the sport. This season you will see Montoya, Hornish, Carpentier, Franchitti, & Villeneuve all bumping like they could not do before.

If NASCAR driver's faced ramifications like this I think they would do less driving into each other...

Yes, those are indeed two legs sticking out there...

BTW...is that Zanardi? Holy cow that is scary.
PS...I watch NASCAR since its a form of racing. Its not so bad. I do definitely prefer road racing though over it (F1, ALMS, Speed GT series, etc.) Hell...I'll watch lawnmower racing if there is nothing else on.
Much like GPMike, I will watch any form of racing and watched a lot of Indy with my dad when growing up. I went to the Indy 500 last year and am going to ALMS this year but still prefer Nascar to all.
Most everyone here loves F1 for 1 reason or another and feels that it is superior to all other forms of motorsports. I think that WRC has the most gifted drivers and that Nascar has the most action and is the easiest to follow in America. Many F1 races finish almost exactly in the same order as qualifying. You don't see F1 drivers gaining 5-10 positions in a race because the cars are too perfect and can't pass each other.
