NASCAR Suspensions...
F1 cars cost up to $15 million a piece, Cup cars only cost $150k... they're made for bumpin'!
As for NASCAR being a bit like the WWF... DUH!!!
They're both "sports/entertainment;" at least the NASCAR races aren't fixed. It may just be a high speed traffic jam going in a circle, but it still is racing and it sure is fun.
As for the rap on NASCAR drivers... not really fair. Some are just jerks... (can you say "Robby Gordon?") but most of them remain incredibly humble despite the fact that they're treated like rock stars. Put 40+ cars in a bunch at 180+ MPH and it gets very intense; s&%t happens and tempers flare. They're human beings fercrissakes.
I make my living in a NASCAR car these days (instructor, not racer) and had a chance to work an event with a bunch of Sprint/Nextel Cup drivers before the Super Bowl. (ESPN tailgate party at PIR) With 10 cars/drivers we gave over 350 rides in only three hours. It was a lot of fun, but a lot more work than the drivers were expecting. When we were done, rather than complaining, guys like Carl Edwards and JJ Yealy were thanking us for inviting them to participate. Could you see Fernando or Kimi being as gracious?
These guys like road racing too... hell, they like any kind of racing. (we watch whatever's on the speed channel) NASCAR just happens to pay best.*
*(Unless you happen to be Michael Schumacher...
)

They are on probation, not suspension as the title suggests...

I love WRC...I wish it was on TV

when I think of all the great programming we lost when the Speed Channel became Speed which should be renamed to The Pinks & Nascar Channel...

Most of these drivers make $5mm+ a year (Jimmie Johnson made $18mm last year I recall) and still go to their local dirt tracks to race there old buddies. I know Tony Stewart (IRL Champion) bought a dirt track to keep it open and race there.

Sorry, I don't follow NASCAR, I picked the wronmg word, boittom line, they looked like a couple mad teenage boys out there...
man, i've tried many times to watch F1, but i can't. it's just to boring. there's hardly any substantial passing, and the accents of the commentators are annoying as hell. why do i wanna watch a race that 9 times outta ten is gonna finish pretty much the way it started?

And Senna was killed instantly.
Crashes are very hard to completely protect against, no matter what. If you think no one is ever going to be hurt again in an F1 car, you are delusional.

But the fact is....the F1 car is much, much safer than the Champ/IRL cars as far as open wheelers go. You tell me hoss, what would you want to smack a wall at 180 mph in? An IRL/Champ car or an F1 car? Yeah...thought so.
Btw...grats to Ryan Newman and Penske Racking on winning the Daytona 500. I watched it all. Bad strategy at the end for Little E.
