[QUOTE=Penforhire,Mar 28 2008, 08:44 AM] Flite, I could make an argument that World Rally matches F1 at the pinnacle of car racing.

But if FA decides that he has to battle KR for the lead, both may end up getting no points.

You'll note that KR gets points when teamed with FM.
Don't forget that in Malaysia FM spun because he was pushing 10/10 to keep up with KR. He had a huge lead on the third place car.

Alonso is a talented driver. He's showing it by dominating Piquet and driving the piss out of what he has been given.

All drivers are going 10/10. They just don't make as many mistakes as Massa. I dont think hes that good. He's an OK driver, not championship material. Like David Coulthard, 10 years or so at Mclaren and never a real threat. Hes fast sometimes and slow others, never consistently at the top.

Massa's former boss Peter Sauber, though, was not surprised when he observed the driver's error from the BMW-Sauber garage in Malaysia.
"If things are not running well for him, Felipe loses concentration quickly," the Swiss said.

Massa who was test driver for Ferrari for a year, then raced for ferrari w/ Michael, got his ass woopped by a guy who was in his first year in the car. I mean Kimi won in his first race for ferrari. Clearly a difference in talent.

Not Hamilton.

He said it himself, he can go faster.

They don't go 10/10 because they're trying to preserve their tires, engine, etc. After Massa crashed, Raikonnen immediately slowed down a bit because he didn't have to push hard any longer.

I agree - what FM should have realized was that he was not going to catch KR. He should have settled into a comfortable pace that kept his gap to the 3rd placed car. FM would have 8 WDC points instead of the 0 he now has.

In other words, stop racing and just parade around the track. Ah yes, F1 -- the pinnacle of motorsports. Nothing that needs to be fixed here, now is there?
