Interesting, all the teams are between 6, 7 and 8...

Maybe it's just me, but considering what those engines go through, I don't see the difference between 6 and 8 as a huge deal, however, like so many of the f'ing stupid FiA rules, that difference as it is factored into penalties does become a big thing

Too bad for Nick Heidfeld. He inherits the penalty from De La Rosa.

Webber looks to be in the best position when looked at from this perspecive.

I think we should get back some testing, and I think the number of engines that can be used in a season should be increased.

Too many of us here can point out great examples of how F1 is not taking steps to control the cost, so for some of those so called cost saving moves that are spoiling the racing like the testing ban and limited number of engines, those things should indeed be revoked.

As well as the ban on team orders

I truly do not presume to know how to resolve some of F1's perceived problems; however, that doesn't mean I won't share my opinion

I'd agree with what's been said so far, particularly:
1) more testing, using unlimited engines (these engines cannot be used in any race). This would be aimed more at new / returning drivers (yes, you can read into it "...another Schumi rule..."
In what sport do the performers / athletes only get to do live practice in the 2 days preceding the performance?!... Yes, this would increase costs; but the teams would need to include that into their 'resource restricted amounts' - maybe a slight increase to the "cap". Could this money come out of the virtual testing budget?

2) [the same] unlimited engines for the 3 Practice sessions, which are still time-limited; those engines cannot be used for any races (is that already the rule? See! It makes so much sense to me that I am confused as to why it isn't already the rule
This should get the cars out on the track for the fans (ok, for the Teams as well - the better funded teams would likely use it to do some intense set up, and testing of new parts). Hopefully this would increase the attendance and television coverage on Race weekend Fridays. A related benefit would likely be more $ponsor$, as their name$ / color$ / icon$ / etc. would be there for the fans to $ee, and more opportunity to schmooze with their client$.

3) Team Orders...

Just to be clear, it's not that I am a Schumacher supporter, nor do I believe F1 is all about money - it would be great to see a clean red Ferrari racing an orange McLaren alongside a green Lotus edging a sliver Merc... all following a white and red Honda however, I realize that money is a big part of the "formula" that Bernie has orchestrated - and I am okay with that. Technology and glamour and elistism... also parts of Bernie's formula as I perceive it - there has got to be a balance though... let us see more of it.

I think I'm done now

Man that is very unfortunate for Heidfeld on how he gets pedro's engine penalties, but I guess he wouldn't mind too much because he gets to drive in a F1 car again.

You guys hear about the rumors of Lotus using Renault engines next season?

I'm always against team orders. Let the best man win.

In years past orders have been used to require the secondary driver to block other teams which kinda destroys the "let the best man win" aspect.
