teams have to sandbag. if they run a pace faster than certin time, the following year they will be penalized with weight. Happened to Aston Martin about 3 years ago. They ran too fast in the race and the next year all aston martins including customer cars were penalized.

Yeah for Jacques Villeneuve! Too bad he couldn't get his triple crown though.

IMO, the rain was the real equalizer in this years 24 Hour Of Le Mans. It basically nullified their speed of the Peugot 908s as they became unbalanced in the wet. I was rooting for the Peugot to win overall but the Audis won with tons of endurance experience.

The speed of the Corvettes seemed nullified by the rain as well. Some of the mistakes they made were uncharacteristic as well. Good win for the Aston Martin in the GT1 class.

Just finished watching the Speed coverage of the race (TiVo ) - wow, very very exciting that last hour. Loved watching the whole thing in fact, just like every year.

Next up - TdF.

i wouldn't say it was an equalizer. Audi won because their TC is further advanced. So in the rain Peugot was dead. Marshall Pruett had a report in the Le Mans Test 2 weeks ago about TC, w/ audi having the most efficient: http://auto-racing.speedtv.com/article/le-...-test-day-blog/
