The semi-offical IRL thread
Penske Transporter burns down w/ both primary cars!!!!!
glad penske has the resources to be able to continue so fast. Infineon would have sucked w/o them!

Holy crap
That really sucks. I'm sure they have insurance but still, getting the setup on the cars duplicated and all the other intangibles.
Helio is the only one who can give Scott a run for the title or at least make it interesting.
The championship was SOOOO close last year, right down to the wire, but this year Dixon is pretty much a run away

This was one time I didn't mind golf running into a race because I was watching the finish of the ALMS race, so I don't feel like I was missing something or had to switch back and forth for half an hour.
One thing that bugged me was the announcers constantly saying it's a "Hollywood ending" I mean come on, we heard it a thousand times in the last hour. And even though they had the fire, it was still a Penske team that won. Penske has a lot of human and financial resources that he can have to divert to a situation like that. That's not a "Hollywood ending".
Vitor Meira or E.J. Viso winning under those circumstances, now THAT is a "Hollywood ending".
What do you think of the announcers and pit reporters in IndyCar, not just at this race, but in general?

Announcements in IRL haven't been the same since Paul Page retired
Was even worse the year we had the Nascar guy
I had to keep hitting mute every time he talked.
Scott Goodyear just does not get very excited about things - they need someone to replace one of the current guys OR at least bring in a 3rd person to spice things up. Someone needs to yell and scream when things get exciting
And as I have mentioned before in other places, I miss Jamie Little
Brienne actually did an OK job this week but for the most part she should NOT be in front of a camera.
I agree - too much on the 'hollywood' crap - it's not like Roger is a poor man
I do like Helio though and I'm happy for his win and for him challenging Dixon.
