Semi-official Indycar thread 2010 & 2011

Well if Indy cars at Texas doesn't move you, one had best check and see if one still has a pulse! Always incredible in my book.
What was up with the non-working fire equipment that initially showed uo to put out that fire in de Silvestro's car? And man what a blaze! Haven't seen the likes of that in years and years. Are we sure that wasn't Danny Ongais' car? But seriously the fact the first equipment on the scene didn't work damn nearly had tragic results.
NICE run for Danica Marco...two 3rd's in a row. Nice young man., now let's see some wins. You're daddy was a terror, your grandaddy's a legend. Gotta be some of those genes in there somewhere

^^ It's been in IRL news for the past few days, including announced yesterday at the start of the race. 2.4 liter V6 turbos making between 550 and 700 HP starting in 2012. No word yet on the new chassis AFAIK.
On another note, for Andretti Autosport with ALL FOUR cars finishing in the top 10 yesterday (pos. 2, 3, 6, 7) including a great run by Danica to finish in second. Yeah, I think they are back

Here are a few photos I took from the Firestone 550 at Texas Motor Speedway.
Just playing with the exposure some:
Sato's car before his encounter with the wall:
And after:
Simona's car on fire and the aftermath:
Moreas' car in the pits before his accident:
There are a few more in my album here: Firestone 550 Photos
And finally a video of the start (Can watch it in HD if you go to YouTube):
