Since this now seems to be the officially sanctioned F1 discussion thread I cannot resist.

Still... it's tough to be intimidated by a driver named Kimi.
And 'Fernando' does it for you?

(Not to mention that the guy's got even less personality than Vijay Singh...
Methinks he was hired to drive, not to entertain...

krazik - I also agree that Bridgestone is not up to par at the moment. However, in the colder race in San Marino they seemed to work ok later in the race. They could bounce back in colder races, but for a challenge in the WCC/WDC a big improvement is needed.

Yup!

It has been working for me ever since Hungry '03 when he won the race, the youngest winning F1 driver ever, and he did that while lapping MS I might ad...

Go Renault!

The whole concept of the tire rule being to "reduce costs" is such a joke!

Ferrari and Toyota will each spend about $300 MILLION each on their teams this year, Renault $250 MILLION!!! They're going to pinch pennies on tires???

Yeah... MS blistered that tire, and if Alonso hadn't blistered his in the early going, it might have been a much closer race. This tire crap sucks! Changing tires is part of racing! The pit stops look pretty silly with 15 guys standing around doing mostly nothing.

As for Weber... Honda got a 2 race ban for an illegal fuel cell, what should the penalty be for attempted MURDER??!! This is F1, not NASCAR! That kind of stuff can't be tolerated in open wheel racing.

Fernando may be an ABBA song, but at least it sounds like a guy. Kimi sounds like somebody's kid sister.

Did anyone hear that thing on CBS when they mentioned the new V8 engines that were under testing were spinning up to 20,000 rpms? As much as I think the rule change to a V8 to save money is the stupidest thing I have ever heard, the fact that we might see 20,000+ rpms in the future makes me weak in the knees...

20,000 RPM...

Kinda makes the F20c seem like a lawnmower.

Speaking of kid sisters...

How about Danica at Indy yesterday? Looks like there's finally a lady who can be competitive.

Talking about jokes here are the ones that come to my mind:
- reduce costs by going to a new V8 engine
- reduce costs by having fewer testing days
- do away with special qualifying setups, and then don't let the teams inspect them for safety concerns after
- reduce costs and yet keep adding additional venues farther and farther away
- reduce costs by having 1 set of tires last qualifying and the race, who cares about safety
- to slow cars down eliminate "safe" tire changes and keep the "dangerous" fuel stops

Oh I could go on and on...
Bernie and Max need to be banned from F1.
Maybe the FIA could give them a lifetime suspension...

That only applies to '04s and '05s...

Speaking of Indy, I will be off-line from June 15 till June 21. My seat is in Northwest Vista for F1 at Indy.

Go Renault!

Trulli's fire leaving the pits was pretty spectacular.

Max doesn't ride in the cars; why should he worry about safety?
