Haven't touched the car all winter. Spring is here (kinda - we just got a bunch of snow the past couple days) so I have been preparing the car for the coming driving season.
First off, I've tidied up the PLX Devices gauge modules hidden behind the dash. As I initially only had one gauge, and then subsequently added more modules, the wiring had become a bit of a rat's nest. Now I'm happier.
Lately I've been working on restoring the headlights. If you see the photo in post 47 above, you can see the red overspray on the headlights. That accounted for the cheap price I got them for. Not so visible in the photo are some hairline cracks in the lenses, and also a bunch of clear gunk that had somehow got drizzled onto the lenses. So I thus attacked the lenses with a 3M headlight restoration kit. Pictures of the process below.
The headlights have also been married to a second hand set of AP2 ballasts that I also picked up last fall. Finally, I've also added some clear protective film, but I'm not happy with the install so I'll probably do it again.
Next will be installing them onto the car, along with the AP2 taillights.

Finally found time to install the AP2 headlights last weekend. Had to pick up some new bulb sockets, and also broke a couple of the fender liner clips too.
AP2 tails will be this weekend's project, along with an oil change - and then back on the road after hibernation since October!
Will probably sell my genuine JDM AP1 headlights sooner or later - just want to be sure I'm 100% happy with the AP2 headlights first, and no leakage or anything.

Awesome build! I've always wanted a Silverstone s2k, haven't found one locally that isn't overpriced, beat/abused. How do you manage to drive around Edmonton lol the roads are horrible!

Our roads are horrible! I bounce around a lot, it's a pain.
On another note, got my SOS hood dampers yesterday. Don't know how I worked on the car without them in the past.

Update: sold the S2k in March 2014.
Now it's September 2014, and I just added its replacement, a 2006 911 Carrera 4S. If you know Porsches, the 997 generation is all about the options, and this car has some very nice ones - chief being the X51 Powerkit, with modified heads, X51 specific headers, different intake plenum, larger throttle body, third radiator and Porsche Sport Exhaust. VERY happy with this car! Purchased through Weissach Performance in Vancouver, picked it up there last Friday, drove it home the rest of Friday and into Saturday across ~1,200km of the very lovely BC interior and the Rockies in Alberta. I thought that I owned nice cars before, but then I got my 911.
I suppose I will post in the 'moved on' thread too, lol.
