Default thechase136's AP1 Time Attack Build

Alright, I guess it's time for a build thread!

I'm about to complete the first half of my track/street build and thought it might be a good time to start documenting things. I picked up this gray '00 AP1 in March of 2015 in near-stock form, and I'll be slowly turning it into a street limited class time attack car for my rookie season in 2016.

How she sits today 6/13/16:

The only modifications it came with were an Injen CAI, Skunk2 springs, and dipped wheels. I loved pretty much everything about the car, so I decided to run it in (mostly) stock form for a while to get used to it.

Later down the road (no pun intended), I started to get the itch to begin modding things. I started off slowly and re-dipped the wheels in glossy white, which I thought came out pretty nicely :

Uh oh, time to go into conservation mode...

Then came the 38mm UK exhaust mod:

And a much needed radar detector

That's how she sits as of today! Now for the real modding to begin...

I ordered some 17x9.0 +45 Advan RZII's, 255/40R/17 Advan AD08R's and KW Variant 3 coilovers which should be here next week. The wheels were sent off to the powdercoater today to be done in Prismatic Triple Bronze. I couldn't help opening up the box to take a look before they were sprayed though

Oh boy am I excited for Tuesday. Hugh from Evasive Motorsports was a huge help with choosing sizes, and will be throwing everything on the car next week!

I'll give you guys an update once everything is on the car and back from the shop. Until then, HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Ok, I guess I'll ignore that one for now.

Yes you did, most of the parts haven't arrived yet.

Ignore my compliment or question? You don't need any parts to head to the track. Just get out there and do it.

Your "compliment".

I've hit the track plenty of times in stock form, now I'd like to start working on wheels/tires/brakes, exterior, and eventually forced induction to make it a bit more fun.

Well good luck to you. Turbo or supercharger?

Thanks! I was hoping to go the turbo route, but with the Greddy CA Smog legal kit discontinued I'm looking into other options. Being smog compliant or easily reversible to pass smog is pretty important to me with this build.

You should probably go supercharger or move to a better state then.

Yeah, that's probably what I'll end up having to do. I'm sure something like the Comptech kit would be an absolute blast.
