60,000 mile maintenance?
so im reaching my 60K mark.... can someone tell me what exactly do they do for a 60K maintenance? im thinking of just giving it to the dealer so i dont have to bother, but if someone can give me a list of things they do maybe i can just do it myself...i live in an apt complex so i dont have any where to do my own stuff really... but if its nothing extreme i can manage. thanks for the info people

Most of the item's listed are just inspection's. Sparkplug's are not even listed in the 60k service.
The 60k service is basically a very expensive oil change. Engine oil @ filter, diff oil and air filter element. Changing (flushing) brake fluid is not on the 60k maintenence list, but I added that one myself as Honda state's to do this every 3 year's independant of milage. I changed it to every 2 year's independant of milage although I flush it more often than that even.
The 60k mile service does not say to replace the MTF, but just add if low. A lot of guy's change the Transmission fluid out every 15 - 30k miles.
Like I say, the 60k service is just an expensive oil change and they don't even change your transmission or brake fluid's.

I did my 30K a couple weeks ago. Basically just engine oil, rear diff, air filter, cabin filter, etc. I got the parts at handaacessories, they ship pretty quick.
xviper's walkthroughs were incredibly helpful. I think you're better off doing the service yourself and save some $$. You get to spend some time with your car too =)

Honda MTF (transmission) is highly recommended by quite a few members here on the board. Mobil 1 GL-5 75w-90 (differential) is also very commonly used by quite a few member's on the board. I would advise you to have your brake system thoroughly flushed. Castrol dot 4 is sufficient for street use. The air cleaner element you can order online here, or you can purchase one from your friendly local Honda dealer The Honda MTF can be bought from your local Honda dealer as well. The Mobil 1 diff oil and the Castrol brake fluid can be purchased From Kragen's or your favorite neighborhood auto parts store.
