lol. i have AAA and almost got stranded due to a draining battery, but i did ask the guy about towing my car with a flatbed. the guy said that they do tow lowered cars. just requires a different driver and it'll take awhile for them to find one available.
if your car is only 1-2 inches lowered, i'm pretty sure they could've towed your car.

yep in general, the ones i have to deal with are all really nice people, but sometimes u will run into a few that's either new or dont want to risk it. i believe they have updated their policy and tow companies are using it so they dont get liable for any damage because low clearance.
They do tow lowered cars just they have the right to refuse it if they feel like they couldnt get it on the flatbed without damaging your front bumper or anything else.
in my case, my car isnt even that low, the second tow guy that came out didnt even have to use wood blocks lol oh well it is what it is

I think you just got a lazy driver. I had a flat one time with my integra when it was slammed and tucking tires all around. The car was literally sitting on the ground when AAA came. The guy used 3 floor jacks to get the car high enough to tow, but the entire time he was really cool with it. He even mentioned that he used to have a car like mine, but raised it up because he didnt want to deal with issues like what I was dealing with at the time.

Depends on the driver, typically if you ask them for a business card after they decline you then their attitude will change. Fortunately for us as consumers it's easy for us to file a complaint and from what I've been told is AAA takes their contracts with these companies seriously. When they tow lower cars there is an added cost to setup the tow, AAA covers this cost. If the driver didn't want to do it then it was out of pure laziness on their part. AAA already gets charged a higher cost for a rwd car to go on a flat bed, why wouldn't they cover the cost to lay down a few 2x4's? Bottomline is I would take it up with the towing company and report the driver for leaving you high and dry.

Had my NSX towed from Oakland to Sacramento, it had about 3 inch clearance, AAA was super cool and really took his time making sure that the car didn't get damaged while getting on the bed, had a bunch of 2x4s and little ramps to make it up, but it was fine.

Truth be told the liability for damaging cars is much higher now too with all the cars reaching 70-100k regularly. Why brush off a 10-30k S2000? lol many of the procedures for these cars are the same and they are worth 3x more than our cars.

yea i got real unlucky and on top of that they denied my reimbursement request.
i am kinda pissed off now since the other tow company was able to get my car on their flatbed without even using wood blocks.
im going to call them directly to see if i can get a reimbursement somehow. if anyone has any tips on negotiating it on the phone please let me know
