Battery
Today, when I was getting ready to go out, I tried to start my car and it wouldn't turn on. So I tested the battery with my multimeter and I needed a new battery. I looked around and went to Autozone and Pepboys and their batteries seem ok. I checked out their Duralast Gold battery and it was about $125.99 + 5 year warranty with a $15 core exchange, also they carried the Optima Yellow which ran for $189.99 + 3 year warranty with a $15 core exchange. They seemed ok I've heard good things and bad things about Optima batteries but I ended up trying to find other options.
A friend suggested I could look on Amazon; I found some but I didn't know the brand nor were there any reviews on them. I did not want to skimp out and buy some cheap battery for my car that didn't really have any reviews or input on. As I kept on looking, some said Kirkland batteries from Costco were good. So I went to my local Costco and asked them but they didn't carry any batteries for the S. I found that quite odd but ok, I left thinking about other possible options. Then I started thinking about how the OEM battery was really good and it has a 100 month warranty.
I checked online and I saw at Honda parts cheap, they have our batteries for about $78.33 with a $18 core exchange that still carried a 100 month warranty. My total came out to be about $111 after taxes and the core charge when I placed it as a pick up at South Bay Honda. As for Non OEM batteries, reviews seemed mixed all around.
What are your guys' input on batteries, the ones you currently use if they're not OEM, pros and cons?
Anyways, if you guys are in need of batteries, I think ordering for pickup would be cheaper than buying at any automotive specialty shops.

I think those Costco batteries when you find the right match for the s2000 end up being the same internally as a "name brand" battery. The internet told me this so it must be true.
I tried picking one up but it was a bit of a wait. I got the proper battery from joeys shop nd it's been bulletproof, even with all the stress my sound system puts on it.

I tried getting a Costco battery about a year ago for our vehicles and they didn't have them for all 3. They really cut back on the inventory compared to about 5 or 6 years ago (at least locally) I ended up going with Interstate batteries, All in all I only paid about $100 for it from a Wheel Works in San Mateo.

according to my friend, ac delco makes some of the best traditional batteries. he's a super anal nerd that always researches everything and whose dad owns an independent german & japanese repair shop.
personally, i've always gone w/interstate batteries. in fact, i just bought a new megatron II for my S if anyone is interested, i'd actually like to sell it and try one of those lightweight batteries. i can provide the original receipt for warranty purposes. i bought it from Firestone. it's about a month old. i'll even throw in a gold Password JDM battery tie down i just bought too.
