Well since I got the SC I have now received 2 TICKETS in 2 weeks. I was pulled over this morning on 680 right by Sunol. I was behind a slower car in the fast lane and a SUV to my right. As soon there was a gap between the 2 cars I jumped over a lane and floored it. Unfortunately, there was a CHP about 20 ft behind me and 3 lanes over. I didn't see him because of the SUV that was next to me. I ended going about 90 and started to decel when I looked in my rearview and to my surprise there he was right behind me. He said that he had his eye on me since I was about 10 feet behind the car in front of me and going about 75. He thought cool he is moving over then he saw me take off. So, he followed and said he thought I was going 82. He wrote the ticket for 80 in a 65. Oh well...live and learn i guess. Oh yea, davepk offered the cop to test drive my car but he declined. He sure did like the car though.

Dang! Did you have a radar detector? I wonder if it would have even done any good?

Technically CHPs are suppose to pace you for X amount of distance unless otherwise posted.

CHP's in Marin County however love to use their radar even tho they're not suppose to on Hwy 101... but they still have to pace you as the radar won't be usable in court.

Love my Valentine 1!

Fight your ticket in traffic court. He might not show up...Good luck tho. I have been slow down quite a bit after I got 3 tickets since owning the STOOK but luckily only 1 goes on record.

Yep, he was pacing me, that is why he thought I was only going 82. Had he tried to radar me I would have picked that up.

Maybe we need to start our own traffic school, at least arrange a frequent user discount for the Stookers . I already have one ticket in the S2k, so I am trying to avoid it, but its a certainty that I will continue to speed so...
