Ammo has gone dry in the bay area. I order mine online or I usually find good deals on forums. Plus with Obamas new ban list that they are trying to pass I'm stocking up on my AR 15's and will value ever be so high on those when and if the ban passes. People who ordered their AR's to be built in December 08 have just recently received them.

I can see why this is going to take place. A lot of people have been getting their FFL and selling guns left and right. Yes it is a legit business as they are linked to the DOJ but they also get discounts for ammo and sell it on the side. I too have run across many who do this. They dont make much profit but I guess making any kind of profit these days is better than nothing.

But to go back on track.

Do I see this AB962 going into effect in California? Probably not. But, there is always a but. With Obamas new ban list and what not, it could.

That's California for you. We appoint ex weightlifter/actor as governor, ban gay marriage after it was legal before, stop smoking in bars/clubs because waitresses say its bad for their health when they serve alcohol that eventually leads to ulcers, etc and so on.

Can I own an AR-15 in CA? Wondering if I should put one of those on the buy list ahead of the the Sig 239 which I can purchase anytime.

Thanks, I recently moved here so I'm unfamiliar w/ the gun laws aside from the self registration form I had to send in for my existing gun. I'm totally out of the loop on what Obama has in store. I'm just thrilled the Heller decision went through last year before the Supreme Court gets mucked up with this new nominee. I lived in DC for law school and I remember thinking the whole time that the DC gun ban couldn't be constitutional, so when it was challenged and struck down at the Supreme Court level that was a happy day.

I always wanted an AR w/ 16" heavy/match barrel. I guess now is the time to buy.

Also, if anyone is planning on going to a local range, feel free to PM, would like to cycle some rounds.
