Oh my bad, were you going to do it out of the kindness of your heart or were you going to save him a couple of bucks and beat one of his quotes?
The local shops aren't allowed to do business here unless they're sponsors so what makes you think you're allowed.

I said to let me know what they quote and I may be willing to do it for cheaper... No prices were given, I might not have been willing to do it as cheap as the op was quoted. No low balling happened, no rules were violated. I was giving the op another potential resource and trying to maybe help a local owner.

The recommended shops are great, no question about that, but they are not the only options people have.

one person offering to help another for a fair price is not considered "commercial by nature", with that being true the rest of rule 2(g) is void as it says "AND in which you stand to profit..."
even if it didnt say "and", i probably wouldnt be profiting.

it seems a little unfair to derail the OPs topic like this. lets wait for PMs to be available and have another mod that might be more well versed in the forum rules cc'd on our discussion.
