Default Does She Have a Case?

Long story short, very good friend of mine bought an HP laptop. Laptop malfunctioned and so she brought it back to HP. When she got the laptop back, she noticed everything was running slower than before. She then opened up her laptop and found they replaced her processor with a lesser one. 1.8GHz to a 1.3GHz. Does she have a case and what should she do? She's already called HP but they've not return her call

Does she have receipt showing what the original laptop has? She should ask for a brand new one not to have them fix it. Then tell them she will report to BBB

If she had purchase a "Service Plan," you may want to check the language on that. . . they may have the discretion to change stuff.

she should, but if they give her the run around here what s he can do

tell her to record the operator # of all the ppl she talks to, then ask ot speak to their supervisor

if she tired and tried and they still wont take care of her, here how to launch a executive email carpet bomb to the execs at hp and get herself taken care of

Obviously you have never worked with HP, let alone on a large scale. I wish I had some advice, i would document everything and deal with all communication in writing. Good lucK!

It's a Quality Control issue. Why did the person pick the chip from the wrong parts bin? Or, why was the wrong chip selected for replacement?

The question is, how are they going to resolve the issue?

I mean, this isn't sue-worthy if HP is willing to solve the problem and satisfy your friend.
