Default Hook up on Electronics

Most of our local shops here in my area don't carry Alpine anymore and the ones that do, don't have what I am looking for. I contacted Fry's and they don't carry Alpine as well so if you guys know of a shop in the bay area then let me know so I can swing by or call them this week

TIA

angelo, all best buy carry Alpines now... i got my CDA-9856 for $179 when it first came out (retail $230) . The sales guy wasn't gonna sell it to me coz he said it just came out and they have to sell the old models first, and the prices were $280 and up, so i said no way... how about i'll buy 2 of the 9856? then we had a deal! haha too bad 9857s and dvd models weren't out at that time

good luck on your search!

Best Buy don't carry the high end stuff from Alpine and I am looking at the 9965, 9861 or 9860. The 9965 I really want to see in person first and play with it if I am going to consider buying the unit.

I was looking for the 9861 as well, but didn't want to buy without testing it out first. If you get that one, let me know and we can try and get a deal on two.

Does Alpine even make a passive head unit anymore?

Are you referring to the DVA-9861 DVD player?

Or a CD deck?

here's the link to the Alpine decks:

We have one DVA-9965 (retail $1600) but that unit is going into the 997 Cayman S so not available.

I do have a DVA-9861 and a DVA-9860 deck here.

You can find lots of deals on eBay. Just stay away from the refurbished units.
