^ I've failed at Laguna with an open airbox on my original s2000.

Also, failed with just a Dinan Intake on my e36 M3. What's the sound limit for the day? 90, 91 or 92 db?

Hmmm, I haven't done a track day forever!

Most of the time, you're not gonna fail for exhaust. The s2000's exhaust, for some reason, is loudest at lower RPMs. (well, ok, I know the lighter titanium singles can get pretty loud, but usually I hear more intake noise than anything else.)

It really depends on a bunch of things, the sound limit for the day, the weather (cloud cover or fog, for some reason, seems to make the sound meters more sensitive...)

More than likely you'll be fine, but I'd bring a silencer if you have one just in case. Sucks to have to half throttle up to 6.

hmm... if your car sounds like mine, you won't pass I would just throw the cat back on to be safe... its funner to lose some power and not worry about sound than to have a few extra ponies with the chance of getting flagged, having to "spend your time "fixing" your exhaust, or you could potentially half throttle up the hill (which you also risk getting kicked out if they find you half throttling to pass sound)

Laguna Seca is an amazing track with a lot of history. I was particularly amazed at the fact that, during my first track day experience, I was driving on a world famous course.. I never in my wildest dreams would have ever thought I would have been doing so, and it was definitely a day I will always remember. I honestly do want to get back out there and see what kind of laptime's I could achieve (hopefully, without giong half-throttle up the hill)
it is definantly amazing, im happy to know there is another out there who had laguna as the cherry popper, it was one crazy ride wasn't it? we had rain at the end of the day, now that was FUN. lol halfthrottle.. more like half throttle DOWN the hills.. i am sure you have the memory of the first time going down 9 in your head, its forever burned into my memory as the a$$ lost contact with the seat. talk about instant adrenaline rush! i am going to hope ..

p.s. i thought it was 96 db? lemme look..

Do they really check the db from the exhaust? I'm not sure the actual number, but it was pretty loud last time when it was dyno... K&N intake w/ TP and T1R Dual. Not sure if I would be kicked out... What is the actual limit, can anyone confirm this?
