Default MEGA Lotto - Make Sense?

Someone won the Mega $300M lotto a few days ago! Does it make sense for one person to win it all? I mean, wouldn't it be better if the prize was smaller, say $200K, would it not create more winners?

If you had to win one lottery, what would you rather win, $300 million or $200k. People don't buy tickets for small lotteries.

Nope screw everyone else. I think states are completely stupid for not combining all the lotteries together. When the grand prize is 1Mill only the addicts play. When the grand prize is 300Mil everyone plays. Granted the lottery is still a tax on people who can't do math

playing along w/ this fact, i remember some online forums had "group buys" for certain lotteries where everyone combined their winnings and split it evenly amongst all who participated to buy the "bulk" tickets. i can't remember if it actually worked or if they got a higher return than investment...but it's an idea.

I play. However, I understand that The Lottery is gambling. Long-shot-Gambling. Better-to-have-played-The-Dead-Pool-Gambling. Should-Just-go-to-Vegas-and-at-least-get-a-meal-out-of-it-Gambling. But what the hell, the government lets me deduct the first 300 tickets, so why not?

I was just kidding

But you are correct, in theory it is a good idea but it is rare that it works out that way.
