I just saw the news. There's a controversy between whether the robber shot the mother, or the police department. Supposedly the PD had fires shot to scare away the robber, and they are investigating whether who actually shot her. It's really sad because I saw photos of her, and she looked REALLY young.

I think you mis-understood.. I think they're talking about the suspect's death.. not the mother's....
That is also what the reporter was referring to in the video as well.
