I have seen these alot lately. Are they harmless? It looks like it was cross-bred with something.

Is it still alive? Stick a quarter next to it and take another picture! (:

There was a HUGE MOTHER of a moth in my highschool one year, alive, and we pointed it out to one of the science teachers thinking she'd do something with it.

"Uh, kill it?", was her answer.

What the heck!? Boring teacher!

I've heard that a moth is supposed to be an old dead ancestor reincarnated.
