any1 can tell me where I can get aluminum sheet in bay area?
I need a 20"x20"x7/16" aluminum sheet.......but can't find place to buy it.
help plz.......

That is a very thick Aluminum sheet! I don't even know if they make it 7/16" thick.
Imagine this, it's like 7 quarters stacked one on top of the other, that's how
thick it would be.

that is pretty thick. I don't think home depot or Lowe's actually sells them that thick.

6/17"=10mm.....

Thickness of these materials are measured in Gauges, i.e. 10 gauge, 12 gauge etc.
It sounds like you're looking for a 16 gauge aluminum sheet. Also, these are
not readily available in hardware stores such as Home Depot and Lowe's.
You can probably source them from a truck body shop. I used to build truck bodies
earning money for college. There's one on Industrial pkwy near Ruus, check it out.

Oh and by the way, aluminum are not easily welded, unless you use a TIG welder or
you rivet them together. A good example is an airplane fuselage, notice all the rivets
holding them all together.
