Can you fit the hankook rs-3 in a 225? That's what a lot if not all the ST Civics run in auto-x when its hot out or they will run the Toyo r1r in the 195 size when its cool.

I can possibly fit 225's on one of my cars but I want to be able to use them on both. Rim width and offset is also a limiting factor for "off the shelf" rims. I have entertained the possibilty of custom 16's but of course that is $$$, let alone searching for tires for that too. Hehe

I've heard good reviews of the R1R's as far as autox but haven't really looked into HPDe reviews. Have you driven on RS3's and R1R's?

I want to try the R1R's, but they are just too damn expensive.

That could be one reason I haven't really looked at them yet.

The hankooks can take a lot of heat so doing a trackday shouldn't hurt them. The r1rs don't like as much heat so may not be the best choice now that I think about it. You can look at the results from Mather, my hankooks are almost a year old, have done over 100 auto-x's and over 5000 miles and still have 3-4/32 left of tread.

The reason I wouldn't run the r1r on the s2000 is they only provide the good rubber on the first 2-3/32 of the tire then the rubber gets a lot harder and not nearly as fast. The 195 r1r is the only tire that gets the good rubber all the way through.
