The Newbie Has Some Questions
OK... so I already changed the oil as soon as I got my S2k. And about 500 miles later, The "Maintenance Required" lights up. Where is the damn reset switch!
Question #2
My S2k is an 'o1 and I would really love one of those fancy soft-tops with the power rear-glass window. I just want to know if the conversion is possible and if is so, what else would i need/ any modifications. Thanks.

To reset the MAINTENANCE REQUIRED light (As indicated by the light that says, "MAINT REQU'D"):
- Have key inserted in ignition but in the OFF or LOCKED position.
- Push and hold the trip reset button on the right bottom corner of your gauge clutster.
- Turn key to full ON position and continue holding the button till the light goes off.
-(This part has been added for those who are impatient or who have the light only at the "blinking" stage and not yet solid.) KEEP HOLDING THE BUTTON FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS TO BE SURE OF A POSITIVE RESET. Or maybe just be patient and wait till the light is on all the time before doing this.
- (Some manuals may be a bit off in that they do not tell you to turn the key to the ON position.)
NOTE: This light is only a mileage counter and acts as a reminder to do your oil change following the "normal" maintenance schedule. When you have reached a certain mileage after the last reset, it will begin to blink upon each start up. Once you have covered more mileage, it will stay on all the time. The light can be reset anytime after it first blinks or stays on.
(NO, the light does NOT mean your car is about the IMPLODE! -- RELAX!)

Thanks Hyperpm and Voodo. The link to the '02 soft-top converserion thread will really help. I would've checked the owner's manual but for some reason it didn't come with the car...ebaymotors here I come.
