Default Powder coating

The red paint of my brake calipers is fading, and I'm thinking of powder coating them.

Is it a good idea, or I'd be better of repainting them ? I'm not sure how "permanent" is powder coating.

Also any shop you'd recommend to do the work ?

Either way is fine. Powder coating you'd have to break down the calipers and take out the seals. I'd just paint them and slap clear coat. It's all in the prep work and how many coats is applied to have the finish last.

If you go the powder coat route, West Coast Powder Coat in South San Francisco or Maas Bros in Livermore are the only two I'd go to

I see...

Do you know if the shop would take care of taking off and reinstalling the calipers ? And how long will the car's down time be ?

I don't know any powder coaters that will remove parts off your car.

That sucks !
If I just paint them, can I keep them on or do I still need to remove them ?

I would remove them, If not make sure to tape everything surrounding the caliper that you do not want painted
