Default Price check for 60k maintenance

I recently got a quote for the 60k interval maintenance, and wanted to get your guys' opinion.

The quote included:
-replace engine oil, transmission fluid, rear diff. fluid, coolant, and filters
-flush brake fluid
-perform valve lash adjustment and replace valve cover gaskets
-inspect various parts for wear

I was quoted 4.5 hrs for labor.

Total cost(parts+labor) came out to 600.

Please note that I do not have time to attempt the maintenance myself, I would like to get some feedback on the cost for the service.
Your replies would be greatly appreciated!

that's pretty good IMO, especially if parts are included

That's good to hear, I've had all my maintenance done there, so I'll go ahead and proceed with peace of mind.

Thanks again for your input!

Paying $600 when you basically just need an oil change? I'd expect to be offered a cigarette after this. Was it good for you?

Most of that list isn't called for at 60K miles. Engine oil/filter, air filter, and differential are all that's on the schedule. Add brake fluid if it's been more than 3 years and the the gearbox if was last changed 6 years ago. Won't hurt to do this service though if you can do it yourself for the price of materials and much less than 4.5 hours.

DBW cars should have the valve adjustment. Engine has to be cold which means an overnight visit.

preferred to be cold, but isn't required

Your car, do it as you like! Spec is "less than 100°F."

Oh! Wait! It's not your car! Any temp will do.

Out of curiosity, where did you go to get the service done?

Thanks for the input, my brake fluid was last changed 3 years ago, so I believe that should be on the list.

Like I said, as of right now I would not be able to do the maintenance myself, and honestly who knows, I may take longer than 4.5 hours...
I admit the experience would be invaluable though.

My car is a MY2000 ap1, based on some basic searches I believe my car is not DBW, therefore no valve adjustment is required?
My conclusion from what you've said is that some, if not half of what I was quoted for, is really unnecessary?
