So ive been argueing all morning with Jp at work about which system is better. This may or may not have been posted before, if it has then i apologize in advance.
So based on graphics, gameplay, and games itself which one do you guys prefer and why?

Wait a minute! I am not rating the Xbox 360 as an overall "better" system based on tech specs, design, features, etc. 
However, I am pointing out that regardless of the technology behind the two devices; being the PS3 is more advanced - I find that with the common game titles between the PS3/Xbox 360 the XBox 360 titles tend to out perform the PS3 version.
i.e. GTA4, Call of Duty 4
Also, I find that the Xbox Live community is a much better community than the PS3 community for online multiplayer games & multimedia content.
Right now, the only reason the PS3 is appealing to me is so I can play MGS4 & GT5. It sure is nice to have an integrated Blueray player - but I am a cheapskate & wont be buying blueray movies for a long time, so it may not be the best console for me but may be better for others.

The PS3 needs time to grow. At this point I'm voting for the 360. In a year or so, when the PS3 has a better library and devs get the hang of working with the hardware, the PS3 should be better.

My 360 is sitting in its box. The PS3 is collecting dust next to the TV unless I get a blueray movie. Most of my gaming is on my PC. LOTRO, COD5 WaW, etc. MAME32 on my HTPC. If I had to recommend a system it would be the Wii. Most of the games I can't play on the PC, I can play on the Wii. Most of the games I can play on the 360/PS3, I prefer to play on the PC.

PS3 IMO is better than 360 in only some areas.
The 360 breaks CONSTANTLY, and we all know this.
I haven't heard of many NEW PS3's failing, but my buddy just bought an Xbox elite and it threw the rrod in two weeks.
One thing i DO like about 360 is Microsoft live, PSN isn't as reliable, at least from what i've experienced.
