Default S2ks being targeted

Well I'm making this post today because my s2k just got keyed from the front left fender through my door all the way to my back fender. My neighbor just got his window smashed and hardtop stolen and another one of my friends had the bumper ripped off of his. Everyone in the bay with an s2k be weary of where you leave you car. It could happen in a matter of seconds.

It could be the neighborhood that you are in. I drive mine daily and had no problems. Any car is subject to idiots left out in the open

true it is a big factor. But my friend with the bumper lives deep in sj also there have been multiple reports of hardtops being stolen.

I thought hardtops were bought as a security measure, but now I see that is not stopping thieves from breaking windows and ripping it off our cars.

it's funny because we have to buy a security measure for our security measure. (hardtop locks)

The S2000 unfortunately garners a lot of negative attention from thieves, jealous people, japanese-car haters, sports-car haters, 'Murica bros, lifted trucks, cops, et cetera. This is only going to get worse as the Central Valley flat-brim-baseball-hat crowd can now afford salvage title examples, and they're sucking up all the cheap black market parts they can find as they rebuild them into sad stance cars. Don't daily-drive an S2000 without low-deductible comprehensive insurance.

unfortunately it seems like owning a hardtop makes you even more of a target.

Most of the incidents with S2000s that I have read about on here occur in San Jose. In fact the only time something was stolen from my car (center caps jfc) I was parked in San Jose for 2 hours.

I got my exhaust tips and wheel center caps stolen last year in Sunnyvale. Not the same level as getting keyed but still....
