s2k's need fuel pump kill switch? or necessary

I edited it because I figured security was something that was kinda personal.
Ultimately it was to see if an s2000 needs a fuel pump kill switch as an additional safety precaution.

since a lot of newer cars are considered harder to start up and drive away with, is the s2k that simple to start up without a key?
I post here because I wanted some responses from bay area owners and maybe their experiences with this issue. I moved here about 2 months and where I moved from security was never really an issue.

 

I always put ignition kill switches on all my cars. When I put an alarm in I have the installer hide a kill switch. Done deal

 

Have they ever been tested by thieves?

 

Nope but its to make it more difficult to steal. A thief will figure out what to take, your job is to make that more difficult to do. Id rather have my car still there then gone to a chop shop

 

Yeah I'm considering getting an alarm too with a kill switch. I just had the car for a few weeks so I'm still in the deciding phase.

 

An alarm is a must in my opinion, back up battery for alarm even better. Fuel pump kill switch a luxury but better safe then sorry. I'll be slowly installing these things one by one and making sure to hide the siren etc. Thieves are crafty fellows, just gotta be craftier. Think Home Alone type shit

 

My impression was that the s2000s are just hauled off on a flatbed or two truck when they get jacked. There is little that an alarm is going to do to stop that.

With a GPS system like Lo-Jack, you might be able to track it down before it is stripped for parts. My car was jacked in LA, and recovered in Washington. An alarm wouldn't have prevented the theft from happening.
