I'm pretty sure Mugen designed their parts "with" cat on. Besides S2000's OEM cat has the best flow compare to other HONDA OEM cats.

haven't heard of any here in NorCal yet, but roadside smog check-points have been scattered all around SoCal for a couple years+.

and, contrary to what the dude said earlier, there are lots of cops that will take the time to look for cats on cars.

thats true too. if you're gonna go all mugen. if mugen wanted to use a test pipe. they would have one on market.

Another con: removing the cat results in a lot more air pollutants coming out of your tailpipe. That's totally uncool for a street driven car. If you gain any power, the little you get isn't really worth the smog you create. If you think you need to improve flow in that area on a street driven car, get yourself a high-flow replacement.

S2000 OEM one is already a high-flow cat = no need to change

just change it when you are at track events.
